ARMENOGRAPHIE, part 3 Lebanon. Film screening & discussion

RepatArmenia Foundation’s next film screening and discussion within the TRANSNATION series will be dedicated to Lebanon. Thanks to the documentary ARMENOGRAPHIE by Anna Barseghyan and Stefan Kristensen, we will meet the Armenian communities of Anjar and Beirut.

Filmed between 2005 and 2007, professors, historians, mayors and theater directors are discussing the issues of the “Mythical Armenia” or the “ghetto” style life, the fixation on the past and the creativity in diaspora.

The screening will take place at Akanat Art Café-Gallery, on March 24, at 7 pm, followed by a discussion with Sako Arian, a Bourdj-Hamoud (Beirut) born and Yerevan-based journalist and poet. He is Editor-in-Chief of Arevelk.am, he also contributes to Hetq Online (Yerevan), Jamanag Daily (Istanbul), Armenian Weekly and such other newspapers.
